Cloud Forests & the Pacific Coast

Volcano-view mornings, waterfalls the color of glass, and wildlife on its own schedule.

Pura Vida, Properly

Two trips in one.

Costa Rica is the rare place that works for the whole family and still feels like an adventure. In a single trip you can stand under a steaming volcano, walk a cloud forest in the morning mist, and have your toes in the Pacific by the weekend — without ever feeling rushed.

I plan it most often for families and first-time adventurers, because the country does the hard part: the wildlife shows up, the people are warm, and “pura vida” turns out to be a real way of moving through the day. I handle the logistics between regions so the only thing you’re tracking is the next sloth.

A Few of the Moments

What We'd Weave In

Arenal & the Hot Springs

Breakfast with a volcano view, an afternoon hike over old lava fields, and an evening soaking in naturally heated springs while the jungle hums around you.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest

Hanging bridges up in the canopy, hummingbirds at eye level, and — if you want it — a zip line through the mist. The forest most people only see in documentaries.

Manuel Antonio

Rainforest that runs right down to the beach, with monkeys and sloths in the trees above the sand. The easiest wildlife you’ll ever see, and the kids won’t stop talking about it.

A Coffee or Chocolate Farm

A morning with a local family learning how the beans become the cup (or the bar) — hands-on, delicious, and the kind of thing that sticks.

Kind Words

Jillian put together a vacation that grandparents, parents, and kids all enjoyed — two beautiful properties and a perfect itinerary for every age.
